June Holidays Special: Out and about in Singapore! May 23 2013, 0 Comments

Singapore in June is a great time for families! The warm sun and cloudless skies (a bit of a scorcher but you can always run into the nearest air-conditioned place!), the school holidays (more time to sleep in!) and most importantly, the scads of child-friendly activities to bring your kid too!

We at TLO want to share about one of our favorite June activity - Children’s Season by NHB! Contrary to belief, our local museums are pretty fun places with loads of things to see and do, even for babies!

Here are some of the activities that we’ll be bringing our kids to – maybe we’ll see you there!

Land Transport Festival

Although we may not have Thomas the Tank Engine in Singapore, we have the MRT to call our own! Children of all ages are fascinated by trains and this will be a perfect place for them to find out more about our transport system through games and activities! Best of all, it’s free!

"Megabugs Return!" Exhibition

Want to feel tiny again? The Megabugs exhibition at the Science Centre will be perfect for you!

Enter a world of enormous insects and creepy crawlies at ‘Megabugs Return!’ Exhibition. Featuring oversized animatronics and static bugs, visitors are surrounded by giant grass blades and flowers and will immediately made to feel that they are smaller than the size of an ant. Look out for the collection of live insects and rare specimens as well as an informative gallery with multiple opportunities for guests to participate in various hands-on activities and get bugged out!

Art Garden 2013 at the Singapore Art Museum

We love reading to our kids because it’s a great bonding activity (and also a way to develop their language skills!) Bring them to the Singapore Art Museum to see their favourite tales come to life!

Wander through fairy tales, get lost in dreams and stretch your imagination, as the Singapore Art Museum’s (SAM) Art Garden comes back for the fourth year running! This ever-popular exhibition for the young, and the young at heart, features exciting new commissions, mesmerising artworks, short films as well as animations by local and international artists. Explore the exhilarating world of contemporary art through these installations, and take part in the delightful activities specially designed by SAM and the artists. Get ready to be surprised!
